Once you have the necessary cleaning supplies that you could purchase from any store, including Big Lots, Walmart, Costco or Fred Meyer, it’s time to start the process of deep cleaning your Portland rental property.

Where do you start? The answer is to start where you first put your feet when you walk into the home. If that’s the living room, hallway, foyer, or another area of the house, start in that area first by deep cleaning the floor, scrubbing the walls, ceiling, and other hard to reach areas before you move on to cleaning the next room of your rental property.

Walls – If walls in your rental property have plenty of scuff marks, scratches, or other signs of wear and tear, instead of painting them, the first thing that you should do is focus on removing those marks using a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser. Magic erasers are fantastic and will help you to easily remove any type of scuff mark from the walls inside your Portland investment property without you having to hire a painter to repaint those walls for you.

Windows – Besides cleaning walls, you should also focus on cleaning the inside and outside of the windows in your property as well. This is important because clean windows will make your rental property seem clean and tidy to your tenants.

Kitchen and Bathrooms – When cleaning the kitchen and bathrooms inside your rental property, you should also be focusing on cleaning hard to reach areas like the tops of cabinets, behind the toilet, behind the refrigerator, the crack between the stove and the counter or any area that looks like it may not have been touched by a tenant within the last several years.
